It is my privilege to serve as Principal of a community that is deeply committed to the growth, wellbeing, and success of Aboriginal young people from Central and remote regions of Australia. At Yirara, we believe every student is uniquely gifted, and we are dedicated to providing an environment where those gifts can be nurtured and developed.
As a Lutheran boarding college, Christ is at the centre of all we do. Our faith guides our relationships, our teaching, and the way we care for one another as a community. We seek to create a culture built on respect, compassion, and a strong sense of belonging, where students feel supported to grow both academically and personally.
Education at Yirara extends beyond the classroom. Through our strong boarding, pastoral, and academic programs, we aim to equip students with the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to succeed in school and in life. We also recognise the importance of culture, identity, and community, and we honour and celebrate the rich backgrounds our students bring with them.
